Tiril Eckhoff is a professional Norwegian biathlete and Olympic champion with a track record of numerous victories. Eckoff took home a gold medal after winning the mixed relay event at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and two bronzes at the mass start events in both the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. To top it off, she’s secured 6 other gold medals at the Biathlon World Championships, and 20 gold medals in total at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon. She’s also the younger sister of a former professional biathlete who now coaches her, Stian Eckoff.
Eckoff started her career in Biathlon in 1999, and after years of intense training, joined the Norwegian biathlon team. Alongside her newfound team, she made her World Cup debut in 2008. In 2014 she competed in her first Olympic games, winning a total of three medals that year – a gold in mixed relay, and two bronze medals in both the mass start and relay categories. In 2016, she earned the title of world champion after a 7.5 km sprint at her home arena, Holmenkollen, in Norway.
