Tobias Harris is best known for being a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. He entered the professional league in the 2011 draft after completing a full year of college basketball.
As a youngster, Harris attended Half Hallow High School. He would soon garner his interest in basketball joining the school’s varsity basketball team in the eighth grade. In his senior year at the school, Harris earned himself the title of Mr New York Basketball. In the same year, Harris was also named the 2010 McDonald’s All-American.
Harris then went on to play for the Tennessee Volunteers in his freshman year under coach Bruce Pearl, where he mainly played as point forward, a position that includes the responsibilities of both a forward and a point guard. He quickly made an impression state-wide and was named as one of the most “consistent and versatile performers” within his league.
However, Harris wouldn’t finish his college education as he would declare himself for the draft on May 9, 2011. He went on to play for the Milwaukee Bucks between the years of 2011 to 2013, before being to Orlando Magic in Florida where he would spend three years up until 2016. Orlando traded Harris in an player exchange deal to the Detroit Pistons, where he would spend the next two years before moving on to the Los Angeles Clippers.
