Now a familiar face after his role as the new Prince of Dorne in HBO epic Game of Thrones – who was sitting in the council at the conclusion of the series that elected Bran the Broken as the new ruler of Westeros – British actor Toby Osmond became a very positive symbol for fans who were thrilled to see Dorne fairly represented at the series’ highest levels of politics. He featured in the very last episode of the show as the first sign of Dornish royalty since Prince Doran (Alexander Siddig) was overthrown.
Aside from this lofty appearance, he was lauded for his performance as Henry VIII’s chief advisor Thomas Cromwell in Channel 5’s educational miniseries Henry VIII and His Six Wives. Osmond is very well-known on the UK indie movie scene through his wide range of appearances, most notably in Tom Paton’s award-winning sci-fi flick Black Site (2018) and horror The Ascent (2019). He’s also landed a role in the critically acclaimed British war drama film Summerland (2020) with Gemma Arterton and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, the feature debut from esteemed theatre writer and director Jessica Swale.
Having now developed a strong reputation in the industry and made an abundance of fresh contacts through his casting in Game of Thrones, Osmond is set to make a far bigger mark on popular culture. Undeniably charismatic and charming, he continues to search for new and exciting acting opportunities.
