Toni Ann Gisondi

Toni Ann Gisondi was born on January 1, 1975, in Scullville, New Jersey, and grew up in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Her career in entertainment began at a young age, with her most notable role being Molly, the youngest orphan, in the 1982 film adaptation of the musical “Annie”. At only six years old, Gisondi’s performance captivated audiences and earned her a nomination for “Best Young Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture” at the 1981–1982 Young Artist Awards. She also contributed to the film’s best-selling soundtrack album, performing songs such as “It’s The Hard-Knock Life” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile (Dressed Children)”. This early success established her presence in the film industry, setting a foundation for her initial career.

Following her role in “Annie,” Gisondi continued acting with a part as a student in the made-for-television movie “The Children’s Story,” released the same year in 1982. After these early projects, Gisondi stepped away from the spotlight to pursue a more conventional life, returning to New Jersey. She attended Holy Spirit High School in New Jersey and later became a substitute school teacher. Despite her shift in career focus, she maintained a connection to the performing arts, participating in local theater and singing at weddings. In recent years, Gisondi has returned to acting with roles as Commander in “Wing’s of the Wasp” (2019) and Commander Mosko in “Called to Duty” (2023), demonstrating a return to her acting roots.

Gisondi is married to Theodore Pugliese, since July 1999, and they have two daughters, Molly Marie and Melody Rose. Her daughter Molly Marie, born in 2000, was named after her iconic character in “Annie.” Gisondi occasionally makes public appearances, engaging with fans and participating in events related to her role in “Annie.” These appearances, coupled with her recent acting credits, showcase her enduring connection to the entertainment industry while balancing her personal life and professional career as an educator.
