Tony Darrow is an Italian-American actor who hails from Brooklyn – where he had plenty of opportunity to observe would-be mobsters and their attitudes whilst growing up in his neighborhood in Brooklyn. Darrow began his career as a singer, before transitioning to acting in cult film Street Trash, where he played a mobster. Darrow would begin to realise that he had a talent for playing mobsters.
Darrow would be so successful in Street Trash that he would go on to be contacted by the director Martin Scorcese, who wanted him to audition for a role in Goodfellas. The star would be successful in auditioning and was cast as Sonny, the owner of the Bamboo Lounge. Darrow would go on to be cast in multiple Woody Allen films including Bullets over Broadway, Mighty Aphrodite, Deconstructing Harry, Small Time Crooks and Sweet and Lowdown – even working with huge names such as Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal and Hugh Grant. Darrow is more recently known for his role as Larry Barese in the HBO hit series The Sopranos, as well as in the independent film Lynch Mob.
Darrow currently is working on his hobby of comedy, participating in a wide range of comedy events and advertising them on his social media, where he also shows his love of charity work – partnering up with charities such as St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
