World-renowned chef Tyler Florence is a champion for fresh food, uncomplicated recipes and bright flavors. Recognized as one of the USA’s leading chefs by publications including People, USA Weekend, Food & Wine , Wall Street Journal and GQ, he has developed a unique view on how Americans like to cook and eat today. Whilst establishing his credibility and reputation on the food scene of New York, he also became a well-loved television personality hosting several Food Network shows including Planet Food, All American Festivals, Food 911 and My Country, My Kitchen. He has also appeared on the likes of Rosie, Access Hollywood, The View and E!. Florence is the author of bestselling cookbook Tyler Florence’s Real Kitchen.
Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, Tyler attended the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in South Carolina. After graduating he accepted the Executive Chef’s position at Cibo, and his original culinary creations soon began to garner praise and attention from the likes of New York Magazine, New York Times and Crain’s New York Business. The star chef opened his first restaurant Cafeteria in Manhattan as Executive Chef in 1998, and received a nomination in Time Out New York for “Best Out New York”. The top chef continued to establish his reputation in the restaurant trade as he rose to stardom on television, and he remains one of the most respected chefs in the USA.
