Veronica Gianmoena is an Italian Nordic combined skier and former professional ski jumper. Over the course of Gianmoena’s career, she has competed in multiple World, FIS, and Continental Cups. Recently, at the 2019 FIS Cup in Villach, she surpassed all of her competition and secured the first place position. That same year at the World Championships in Seefeld, she finished 8th in the team competition held for the first time.
Gianmoena began her skiing career at a very young age and became a prodigy at the sport. At the 2007 Italian Children’s World Championships, she won a silver medal, and two years later won a gold medal at the same competition. On August 8, 2009, she made her ski jumping Continental Cup debut at the age of 13. After years of restless practice, Gianmoena achieved her first big win at the Alpen Cup in 2014. She placed 3rd at the event and thus gained the recognition she deserved.
Eventually, Gianmoena advanced out of the Junior World Championships and began competing at World Cup events. Every year since her initial debut, Gianmoena has improved her standings, leading up to her most recent success at the 2019 FIS Cup. 2019 saw many other successes for Gianmoena, as it has been her best year of performance to date. With her extensive training and years of experience, there’s no doubt she’ll outdo herself once again next season.
