Mutiat Yewande Isola, professionally known as Anike, is a Nigerian American rapper, actress, and former journalist and A&R administrator based in Austin, Texas. She made her mark in the music industry by signing with the Christian hip hop label Reach Records in 2019, where she previously worked as an A&R administrator. Anike is notable for being the first woman signed to Reach Records, breaking barriers in a predominantly male genre. Her debut extended play (EP), “Exit,” was released on April 24, 2020, showcasing her unique sound and lyrical depth, followed by a mini-EP titled “The Decision” on December 4, 2020.
Before her signing, Anike established herself as an independent artist from 2013 to 2018, releasing multiple singles and collaborating with various artists. Her first recorded feature was on the song “B.I.G.” by D-Flow in 2013, and she gained recognition for her single “No Flex” in 2016. Anike’s performances at the South by Southwest festival in 2016, 2017, and 2018 further solidified her presence in the Christian hip hop scene. Her dedication to her craft led her to write for the Christian hip hop website Rapzilla and assist the record label RMG.
