American alternative hip hop artist, Jonathan Avram Yoni Wolf, better known as Yoni Wolf, is also famous for bein an indie rock musician and co-founder of the record label Anticon. Wolf began his journey in music when he was a kid by experimenting to an old 4 track that he found in his father’s synagogue. He found his passion in music was focued in rapping, drumming and poetry. In 1997, Wolf began performing under the stage name Why?. He continued releasing music under this name until 2004. In the meantime, Wolf was attending art school at the University of Cincinnati, where he met Adam Drucker, better known as Doseone. With Doseone and his brother Josiah Wolf, they formed a live improvisational group Apogee. Wolf then transferred his stage name Why?, as the band’s name. With the band Why? Wolf released a debut album titled Elephan Eyelash. They later released their second album titled Alopecia, and their third album titled Eskimo Snow. Their fourth album was released in 2012 titled Mumps, Etc. Apart from his contribution with the band, Wolf has also produced tracks for other MCs. He worked on several tracks for Anticon co-found Pederstrian’s album Volume One: UnIndian Songs. He then produced many tracks for Serengeti’s album Family and Friends. He has also released many albums as a member of many groups, like Reaching Quiet, Hymie’s Basement, Miss Ohio’s Nameless and Object Beings.
