Zachary Levi is an American stage and screen actor who has found fame and acclaim thanks to a variety of roles. He first established himself by playing the titular role in the NBC series Chuck during the late 2000s. More recently, he had major box office success starring as the title character of the 2019 superhero movie, Shazam! In between these, he was nominated for a prestigious Tony Award for his leading role in a Broadway revival of the classic musical She Loves Me in 2016. Levi has been an actor since he was six years old. His first performances were in amateur theatre productions of musicals such as Grease and The Wizard of Oz. He made his screen debut in 2001, and the following year, he was cast in his first significant role: Kipp Steadman in the ABC sitcom, Less than Perfect. When the show’s run finished, Levi won the lead role in a new comedy-drama series called Chuck. This was to prove his breakthrough role, and it won him a Teen Choice Award for Best Male Actor.
However, Levi’s greatest successes to date have arguably been his most recent. Shazam! Took over $365 million at the box office, and Levi also won praise and awards for his role as Dr Ettenberg in the 2017 period comedy series, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
