Referred to as “The Future of Electric Guitar” by Huffington Post, Zane Carney is a Grammy Award-nominated guitarist. He is best known for his work with Avril LaVigne, John Mayer, his rock group CARNEY and for Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway. Carney has also worked and performed with some of the biggest legends in music, including Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Steven Tyler, Davie Foster and Bono and U2. Carney has four solo releases on Google Play, Apple Music and Spotify, including his debut album Confluence, Live In Tokyo: The Bootlegs and jazz guitar album Amalgam.
Born and raised in New York City, Carney began his show business career as an actor and began work on CBS’s Dave’s World when he was 8 years old. Throughout his acting career he also gained notoriety as a talented guitarist and songwriter amongst fans and industry greats including Bono, who dubbed the talented axman “the best guitarist in New York”. As his reputation grew he became one of the world’s most in-demand guitarists, opening for Jonny Lang across the world and co-writing tracks for Avril Lavigne’s long player Head Above Water. His former group CARNEY opened for some of the biggest names in music including Fergie and U2.
Carney’s latest projects include a new band formed with actress and singer Evan Rachel Wood, blending Wood’s ethereal vocals and Carney’s jazz-infused rock and roll. He is also involved in a new scoring partnership with Tommy King (the Grammy Award-nominated pianist) exploring an innovative new method of musical storytelling.
