MN2S artist J.I. performed at the college’s annual Culture Shock festival last weekend.

Rapper, songwriter and hip-hop artist J.I. performed at SUNY Purchase College’s Culture Shock festival last weekend on Saturday May 7th. An annual event hosted by the school, it provides a night of free entertainment for their 1500 students. Joining J.I. on the line-up were Princess Nokia, KeiyaA, Malaya, Rae Khalil and more. J.I., also known by the stage name J.I. the Prince of N.Y., is best known for his breakout single “Need Me”, which has received over 100 million streams on Spotify to date. Most recently, J.,I. released the Hood Life Krisis Vol. 3 EP, which featured a guest appearance from A Boogie wit da Hoodie. In 2020, “Need Me” was certified gold by the RIAA.
