LeVar Burton joins Q&A for Lexia Learning | MN2S

LeVar Burton will be engaging in a virtual Q&A for Lexia Learning’s Science of Reading Week as part of an appearance arranged by MN2S.

Actor, host, producer, and literacy advocate LeVar Burton will be joining a virtual Q&A for Lexia Learning’s Science of Reading week on the theme “Literacy Is a Civil Right”. Taking place March 25, the event will see Burton engaging in an enlightening discussion with Lexia’s Chief Learning Officer Dr. Liz Brooke, covering a range of subjects that includes the national literacy crisis, progress in evidence-based literacy instruction, and equitable access to that instruction for all students. Moderated by Cassandra Wheeler, Director of LETRS State Success, the event will be viewed by over 10,000 virtual attendees, including PreK-12 teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, and education technology leaders.

LeVar Burton is an iconic American actor, director, and author. With an illustrious career spanning decades, he has left an indelible mark on television and literature. Burton became a household name as the beloved host of the educational show “Reading Rainbow,” inspiring generations to embrace the joys of reading. He further solidified his legacy as Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” A champion of diversity and literacy, Burton’s philanthropic efforts reflect his commitment to education and social causes.
