New Music Friday: Stylo G, Art Department, Fluida | News | MN2S

In our weekly column New Music Friday, we give you a weekly round-up of new music from artists that we’re working with, whether that’s for live bookings, label services, PR or social media management. This week, there’s serious heat incoming from our label services client Kaoz Theory, a killer Nicki Minaj collab from Stylo G, and emotive electronic explorations from up-and-coming producer Fluida.

Check out the new music playlist here:

Art Department – Madbar

The latest release on Kerri Chandler’s mighty Kaoz Theory imprint, Art Department’s “Breeding Ground” EP is a four-track exhibition of the veteran Canadian producer’s evident talents. Our pick of the bunch is ‘Madbar’, a thunderous deep-house roller that floats organ stabs and crisp hi-hats above a subterranean low-end framework. Brutal, kinetic and more than worthy of a rewind.

Stylo G – Touch Down Remix ft. Nicki Minaj & Vybz Kartel

With a melodic hook that nods to grime’s minor-key tendencies, a guest appearance from resident U.S. bad gyal Nicki Minaj, and Jamaican inflections from Vybz Kartel, this one’s all over the map. Somehow managing to marshal these globe-trotting influences into something that sounds uniquely his own, Stylo G scores yet another touch down.

Fluida – Tongue Tab

Coming through with yet another tripped-out tribal house banger, Fluida provides a typically psychotropic insight into his colourful and creative mind. Skittering percussion encircles a weighty bassline, decorated by delicate melodies played on Fluida’s instrument of choice, the Hang. This tuned percussion instrument features heavily in their hybrid live/DJ sets, lending a beautifully organic touch to their pulsing, dynamic rhythms.
