Young MN2S artist Wen has been featured as the A-side on the latest Tempa vinyl compilation.
Tempa made a name for themselves by assisting the rise of dubstep from the dark recesses of south London. Since the decline of the genre that made them Tempa have slightly adapted their angle to encompass everything dark and bassy, focusing on innovators in grime, bass, 2-step and techno that still fit nicely within their brand.
Back in the day they made their name by running a critically acclaimed dubstep allstars series and then solidified their reputation for high quality music with some truly significant releases. This carefully nurtured image continues to this day with their other major compilation series, Tempa Allstars, exclusively on vinyl.
The last Tempa Allstars release was back in 2010, but despite the gap, the amount of hype surrounding the release has in no way diminished. Last week Rinse FM dropped the preview track, Wen’s “Push Back”, and already the SoundCloud plays have exceeded 4,000.
Joining Wen on the release are a number of impressive artists, including the fast rising producer Alex Coulton, Innasound, Batu, AHX and Perverse.
