English house sensation Tazer is the latest name to join the MN2S booking agency DJ roster this week.
Born and raised in Oxford, he was influenced in his early years by old school hip-hop and Motown, before discovering house music. Mixing his love of rap with the sounds of 4/4 new school heroes like Jamie Jones, he found his winning formula.
His low-slung hip-house smash ‘Wet Dollars’ with rising R&B star Tink made for a high-impact debut, racking up over 3 million plays online across its original mix and stirling remixes from Redlight and Zeds Dead. It also spawned dozens of bootlegs and unofficial remixes and re-edits – always the sign of a track that has truly resonated.
Since his huge breakthrough track, he has remixed huge stars like DJ Fresh and Ellie Goulding, and signed to the hugely successful Black Butter Records – home to chart-toppers like Rudimental and Clean Bandit. He maintains his ties to the underground, however, with collaborations on the way alongside Dirtybird star Will Clarke.
Counting the likes of Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Mistajam as supporters, it’s clear the he’s well on his way to becoming one of house music’s leading lights.
