Outlook Festival 2018: About The Lineup | News| MN2S

With the final line up announced, we take a look at some of the artists who will be gracing Outlook Festival’s stages this September

On 6th September this year, some of the globe’s best hip-hop, garage, dub, jungle and grime artists will gather on Pula Beach to celebrate modern sound-system culture and bass music. From humble beginnings in 2006, Outlook now boasts a line-up of 300 artists, 10 unique stages, 380 hours of live music and 54 Adriatic boat parties. With some 15,000 attendees every year, Fort Punta Christo will open the 4 day-dance-party in a 2000 year old Roman amphitheatre, headlined by the likes of Wiley, Bonobo and David Rodigan.

Here are some artists not to miss at Outlook Festival 2018:

El-B

This producer, DJ and songwriter is widely regarded as the founding father of Dubstep. With roots in UK Garage, El-B began rubbing shoulders with 2-Step (dubstep’s predecessor), ultimately dropping the track ‘Stone Cold’. Released under the name Groove Chronicles.
With experience DJing in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and countless other venues across the UK, El-B’s shows are fearless and unmissable.

Lamont

Hailing from Bristol, Lamont swiftly established himself as one of the best bass DJs on the rave scene. After his signing to renowned label Swamp81, he went on to host their club takeover nights, performing alongside the likes of Chunky and Benton.
One of Lamont’s greatest achievements is his appearance on Boiler Room- an internationally recognised DJ showcase night. Here, he displayed his incredible mixing skills, in a video already gathering 74k YouTube views.

Mungo’s Hi Fi

Mungo’s Hi Fi are an outfit that cannot be missed on the Outlook Festival Lineup. Not only can the audience expect live mixing from their highly experienced DJs, but this group can also put on a show like no other. With an entire brass section and 3 top MCs – YT, Charlie P and Eva Lazarus – this performance will be an hour to remember.

Reggae Roast

Reggae Roast are at the epicentre of the British Reggae scene. They have managed to simultaneously keep the most classic reggae riddims alive, whilst continuing to push the boundaries of sub heavy dubstep and dancehall. Boasting features from legends like the Wailers, Sly & Robbie, David Rodigen and Suggs, their bright and uplifting music will be the perfect accompaniment to Fort Punta Christo’s coastal landscape.

Slimzee

Along with Wiley and Dizzee Rascal, Slimzee is included in the handful of artists who pioneered grime. Born in East London, his rise to fame began on the pirate radio circuit, where he gradually started climbing the ranks and gaining recognition.
He was awarded a golden disc for his contribution to Dizzee’s Boy in Da Corner and went on to champion the first and second wave of grime MCs by spinning their tracks on Rinse FM.
For all those hard-core grime fans attending Outlook Festival 2018, Slimzee is an opportunity to witness a godfather take up the mic.

Sukh Knight

In the underground scene, Sukh Knight is a big name. Born in East London, he has been a contributor to grime and dubstep, offering a more dark and trippy tone. Crowds at his set can expect classics like ‘Ganja Dub’, ‘Diesel not Petrol’ and P Money’s ‘Slang like This’.
As of late, Sukh has risen to the mainstream through collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Professor Green and Big Narstie.

Sully

Sully is a DJ suited for the festival goer who is seeking new talent. Emerging as something of a folk hero on the electronic scene, he has fostered a cult following for his genre innovation.
At a Sully set, expect to be moved by soaring, emotional melodies, then slammed by deep sub bass. He knows how to ignite the booth.

YGG

YGG are a London grime trio consisting of Lyrical Strally, PK and Saint P. Embodying the next wave of grime, YGG shot to fame through their slick bars and high-octane performances.
Ever since the release of acclaimed EP World Domination, these three emcees have appeared on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM and the infamous Rinse FM.
