Austria-based multimedia artist 419C has signed with our label services to distribute his compelling brand of soul- and club-informed alternative R&B.
Multifaceted musician and visual artist 419C has joined forces with MN2S’ label services platform to distribute his forthcoming releases. Although from in Vienna, Austria, he’s working to build a worldwide audience for his unique songs, which touch base with several contemporary genres while still retaining a distinctively ethereal vibe of their own. His new track, ‘“Impressed (watching you)”, will be available from Friday 15th November but can be Pre-ordered right now. The release part of his EP and tells a story about modern romance set in a typical nightlife scene.
“My music is a rare happening in Vienna,” 419C explains of his sound, which is evocatively showcased on recent singles such as ‘When I Get Back’ and ‘Untitled (Damage Control)’, “which is why I’ve focused on international markets.” To prove this aim, and his level of ambition, he has played multiple shows in key cities such as London and Paris, despite having relatively few releases to his name.419C’s creativity encompasses both music and visual arts. As well as making unique music, he is also a highly talented photographer. “My passion for visual storytelling extends through my photography work,” he says. “I capture the essence of people in spaces with a keen artistic eye.”
His photography being every bit as haunting as his music. Both have an interplay of light and darkness that conveys an enigmatic, individual aesthetic. Musically, he draws on the hidden corners of Soundcloud and the music that, as he brilliantly puts it, “painted the colors” of his formative years, from Nigerian gospel to Michael Jackson to Frank Ocean and more.His own singles to date have blended electronic and acoustic elements and feature his vocal floating over dark and hazy soundscapes of slowed-down and pitch-shifted samples, brooding basslines, and clipped beats. Even the “piano session” version of ‘When I Get Back’ processes the piano so that it sounds like its being played in one of Vienna’s Gothic cathedrals late at night. As he puts it, “My goal is to create music that resonates deeply, provoking emotional thought and feeling.”
A dedicated all-round artist, 419C is consistently collaborating with other creators, producing new visual media, and always experimenting and exploring new ways of introducing mixed media into his artistic work. The innovative names he has worked with in Austria and the UK include the likes of HaramWithSugar, Geschwister, and TENWi.
