The MN2S Label Group releases a fantastic range of music every month. Here’s what they had in store this August.
In the first half of the month, Alola Records released Omid 16B’s latest track ‘Time’. Available for download at Beatport, the track is actually credited to Omid 16B’s alias: 16B. A throwback to his early 90s productions, ‘Time’ is an electronic late night groove with a refreshing, subtle deep house feel.
Also in the first half of August we heard two fresh tracks from producer and record label head Soulfuledge on his own Soulfuledge Recordings. Both of the tracks have a heavy Latin American vibe just in time for the Rio Olympics. ‘Brazilica’ is heavily populated with percussion, laying the backdrop for jazzy horn and synth work. ‘Step In Line’ is a more soulful affair, with smooth chords and gospel-like vocals.
The second half of August brought us a new release from the 20/20 Editions imprint: ‘Pasa Ome’ by German Brigante featuring Kuka Morales. The track includes several spoken-word samples, synthesisers and drum sounds, creating a densely textured sound. Bontan’s slow-building ‘Searching for Everything’ was also released on 20/20, bringing us some techy blips and a driving groove.
We also heard Huxley’s ‘Box Clever’ on Data Transmission. The track is a sonic journey through deep house, bass, and soulful house sounds. Finally, UNDR THE RADR released ‘Intimidating Love’ by S-Man & Riddim Commission featuring Richard Judge, a brooding but catchy pop house tune.
