It’s somehow hard to believe that it’s been four years since Panasonic announced that they would no longer be producing their industry standard Technics turntables. The Technics brand continued to sell headphones after that announcement, and new life is about to be breathed into the brand with the announcement of their forthcoming Technics Tracks hi-res downloads store.

The store is a partnership with 7digital, and will launch in the UK and Germany in January 2015 – offering a selection of top-quality 24-bit FLAC audio tracks as well as a more extensive collection of 16-bit, CD-quality tracks.

David Preece, head of Technics Brand Strategy in Europe says: “Technics Tracks is a platform, where listeners can not only download their favorite tracks in stunning 24-bit quality but will also be a rich source of news and editorial content on hi-res audio releases: another step in supporting our ultimate goal of bringing the world’s highest-class audio experience to serious music lovers.’’
