Scandinavian tech company Aspiro has announced the launch of Tidal in the UK and US: a music streaming service offering ‘lossless’ quality audio.
For $19.99 / £19.99 a month, users can enjoy 16-bit, 44.1khz files streamed at 1141 kbps – around four times the streaming quality of Spotify’s current high quality offering.
The service boasts a supposed 25m tracks and 75,000 music videos, with an editorial team creating content around emerging and exciting artists.
Tidal is the latest high-quality streaming offering, following in the footsteps of Deezer Elite and Quboz Hi-Fi. Their distribution partners include SONOS, Denon and Harman, with the aim of targeting lovers of high quality audio systems.
