Real-time analytics have now been added to YouTube’s video manager dashboard, giving content owners the ability to see how campaign launches and spikes affect their performance at any given moment.
The new real-time reporting tab gives minute-by-minute data for the last 60 minutes, and hour-by-hour data for the past 48-hour period, offering a level of unprecedented analytics.
The addition comes following user requests for more up-to-date analytics, and Google promise further updates in this area to follow. This new feature could be useful for artist managers and label owners who want to assess the impact of different aspects of promotion as they kick into play – such as the effect of a tweet linking to a video or how a radio play of a track might effect views.
