The event will now be held in Las Vegas on April 3rd.
The 64th annual Grammy Awards have a new air date: April 3rd. Hot on the hells of an announcement earlier in January that the original airdate of January 31st had been postponed due to the pandemic, the Recording Academy have announced that the ceremony will be pushed back several months, and is now set to take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena in early April. Trevor Noah, comedian and host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, is set to host. The music industry group explained the motivation behind their decision to postpone in a statement earlier this month: “The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks.”
