News | MN2S | ADE Interview: Soul Clap

On October 17th MN2S will return to Amsterdam to present our annual ADE showcase event. This year DJ Jazzy Jeff will headline, alongside Soul Clap, DJ W!LD and Kon.

We spoke to multi-talented dance duo Soul Clap to hear their thoughts on the event.

Soul Clap are an act firmly at the centre of Boston’s dance music culture. In the booth they have a reputation as two of the most dynamic selectors going. Taking pride in their unpredictable sets, they always bring something new and at the same time remind you of forgotten classics.

Q. What are you looking forward to most about ADE 2014?

A. Playing with the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff and one of our mentors, DJ Kon the Boston disco don. It’s also always a pleasure to hang with our Amsterdam homies like Tom Trago, Melon, San Proper and so many more…

Q. Why is ADE such an important event for the electronic music community?

A. It’s become the go to place to get dance music business done and since so many industry people are around of course the parties go off. All our industry friends basically don’t sleep the whole week. It’s meetings all day and parties all night so the energy is crazy.

Q. What are you currently working on / or looking to showcase during the conference?

A. Our new single, Misty with Robert Owens just dropped on Soul Clap Records and we’re finishing up our collaboration project with funk legend George Clinton that’s set to release in December. We’re also always showcasing music from our Crew Love family: Nick Monaco just released an album, No Regular Play has a bomb single, Navid Izadi has big things in the works and Tanner Ross is always killing it.

Q. Finally what’s your top ADE tip?

A. Make sure to enjoy the city, not just party all night and sleep all day. Amsterdam is one of the coolest, most international cities in the world especially during ADE. Make sure to get to some coffee shops (our favorite is Bluebird) and go to Tempo Doeloe for the best Indonesian food. Then to close out the weekend make sure to hit up Trouw for their Sunday afternoon party, always one of the best of the week.

This event is free to ADE delegates or buy tickets via PayLogic.
