Chez Damier on Arthur Russell | News | MN2S

Chez Damier has taken part in a FACT Magazine feature about iconic disco-era artist and producer Arthur Russell, giving his thoughts on his body of work and talking about his favourite of Russell’s works.

“[He] was nothing less to me than a master and a genius of not only his time but probably of all times” he says in the short monologue [listen above], and mentions Dinosaur L’s ‘Go Bang’ [below] as the most influential track for him from Russell’s catalogue.

He cites hearing Frankie Knuckles playing it for the first time as a seminal moment, and that he continues to play it in his own sets some 25 years later.
