Swedish retail giant turns its hand to musical hardware
Ikea have just announced the launch of a new musical hardware line, named Frekvens. Collaborating with Teenage Engineering (an electronic manufacturer known for designing synthesisers and speakers), Ikea have plans to release exciting new products such as an electronic choir, a vinyl player and party lighting. The idea behind this is to make all Ikea stores the go-to place for house party essentials.
Michael Nikolic, the Creative Leader at Ikea Range and Supply noted that today, “spontaneity is key. The idea of gathering some friends could become a reality in minutes.” In many ways, this is the same way in which people use Ikea – it is a spontaneous, same day decision; so what better place to house party equipment?
With Ikea’s worldwide reputation for convenient and portable products, house parties of the future could become something that is not only affordable, but transportable; “we want to explore the possibilities of bringing the party with you and what else you might need for a great party.”
So, with music being an essential part to any modern house party, this Swedish retail giant is continuing to engineer solutions that will make our lives all the more easier and enjoyable. Their new record player is set to be an essential piece of kit for house party hosts and music lovers alike.
