The jazz-funk icons will be heading to one of Finland’s best-loved festivals later this month.

British jazz-funk band Incognito has been confirmed to perform at the Imatra Big Band Festival 2025, taking place from 23–29 June in Imatra, Finland. The booking was arranged by MN2S for the festival, which is one of Finland’s leading jazz events. Incognito will appear as part of a diverse programme that features both international and Finnish artists across multiple venues, including the BB Klubi tent at Inkerinaukio. The 2025 edition follows the festival’s successful return in 2024 after a decade-long hiatus, and aims to continue building its reputation for showcasing high-calibre live jazz and big band performances.

Formed in 1979 by Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick and Paul “Tubbs” Williams, Incognito has played a defining role in shaping the UK’s jazz-funk and acid jazz scenes. Their debut album Jazz Funk, released in 1981, introduced a bold new sound that combined sophisticated arrangements with deep groove and instrumental virtuosity. Over the years, the band has worked with a wide range of acclaimed musicians, including George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and Marcus Miller. Known for their dynamic live performances and consistently evolving lineup, Incognito have remained relevant through four decades of recording and touring. Their catalogue includes numerous charting singles and nearly 20 studio albums, earning them a lasting reputation as one of the UK’s most influential and enduring funk collectives.
