Actor, host, producer, and literacy advocate LeVar Burton will be joining a virtual Q&A for Lexia Learning’s Science of Reading week on the theme “Literacy Is a Civil Right”. Taking place March 25, the event will see Burton engaging in an enlightening discussion with Lexia’s Chief Learning Officer Dr. Liz Brooke, covering a range of subjects that includes the national literacy crisis, progress in evidence-based literacy instruction, and equitable access to that instruction for all students. Moderated by Cassandra Wheeler, Director of LETRS State Success, the event will be viewed by over 10,000 virtual attendees, including PreK-12 teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, and education technology leaders.
