We take a look at the best music duos in the world, according to Life On Planets.

Life On Planets are an exciting new addition to the MN2S booking agency live roster. They take inspiration from a range of genres, including art rock, indie and electronic. With a strong emphasis on songcraft, their music is a sublime mixture of sounds that is as enjoyable as it is eclectic and original. The band is comprised of producer and DJ Patrick and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Phill. As one of the music world’s fastest-rising duos, we asked Life On Planets to tell us about their favourite musical duos.

Hall & Oates has written so many hits it’s no wonder they are the best selling duo of all time. We’re looking forward to meeting the guys at Okeechobee Festival in a couple weeks and kicking it in the green room. Okeechobee is a new camp out weekender produced by the guys behind Bonnaroo so it’s looking to be pretty sweet. The melodies and songwriting on Hall & Oates is so timeless, ‘Private Eyes’ is one of our favorite jams and ‘Maneater’ is pretty magical too. We have a new song we’re working on called ‘Seekers of the Torre’, it’s around 130 beats per minute and is definitely inspired Hall & Oates.

Juju & Jordash are great because their productions combine elements of disco and minimal together, which is something we’ve been exploring for some time ourselves. They also have an experimental edge that we love and a sort of electronic jazz infusion into their music, where you can find abstract arrangements and freestyle comping. We used their tunes on two of our DJ mixes, one for Deep House London and another for Discobelle.

No Regular Play are good friends of ours and our labelmates on Wolf + Lamb. We’ve spent time with them on the road and feel like we have a lot in common musically and personally. We love their sound and they can really take you on a journey, which isn’t true for a lot of live acts where it’s just one song after another. From jazz house they can build it up and take things to more techy bangers. There’s a live set from them on the Wolf + Lamb podcast from about a year ago that’s really dope, and we have heard elements of their latest album performed at recent gigs and it’s gonna be next level.

Klim & Simon are the two DJing members of the D-Pulse live electronic band, an act which we think is probably the number one underrated live act in the world right now. They tour a lot in Russia, but they aren’t so known outside that area even though they’ve written dope music that’s making some big waves – recently they’ve remixed Chet Faker, collaborated with Harvey Sutherland, etc. Their sound design has appeared in art installations in Korea and all kinds of very cultural implementation of their music that looks beyond the microcosm of what’s seen as cool in dance music. Anyways, only two of the members of the band DJ: Klim & Simon – they did an awesome podcast for Better on Foot recently in addition to an original on our new Footnotes compilation.
