MN2S PR client and pop up-and-comer Bella Calypso drops the visual for her new single.
Bella Calypso has released a new video for her latest single, “Haunted”. Described as a ‘breakup song with a twist’, Haunted was recorded in one session with friend and collaborator PaPa Shiraz. For the video, Bella worked with her cousin, a filmmaker, over lockdown on a shoestring budget to create something wildly inventive and creatively ambitious. Against a moody London backdrop, the singer channels divine femininity, appearing as a ghostly memory to her ex-partner.
Bella Calypso is a pop singer on a mission. Unapologetically bold and self-confident, she makes music that compels other young women to put themselves first and embrace the unexpected. Since the summer 2020 release of her debut single, ‘The Best’, her tracks have been racked up streams in the hundreds of thousands. She has also received considerable airplay from the likes of BBC Radio and been profiled in magazines such as Wonderland, Women in Pop, Pop Culturalist and Lock. Her influences range from classic vocalists such as Mariah Carey to cutting-edge contemporary artists like Jhené Aiko. Among Calypso’s past and present collaborators are fellow artist and songwriter PaPa Shiraz, JayJay Musika, Lawrence Biancardi, Radio Reprezent, DJ Usher Lavelle, and SAZRAH.
