Boundary-pushing singer, songwriter and visual artist Fiorious is redefining the role of house vocalist. Based in Milan but hailing from NYC, he flourishes in the sweet spot between hard-hitting and soulful disco, finding his place as a distinctive queer voice in house music with lyrics that traverse the personal and political. He has collaborated with household names — Honey Dijon, Purple Disco Machine, Dimitri from Paris, Cassius, to name a few — and has been hailed by everyone from Mixmag to Mark Ronson to Annie Mac as a positive and progressive force in contemporary house music. His 2019 single ‘I’m Not Defeated’ became an overnight club anthem, while his 2022 single ‘2 B Free’ (created with veteran Boston producer Kon) was used as the soundtrack to a global marketing campaign by Absolut vodka.

Fiorious is inspired by originals such as Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell and Sylvester and stands alongside modern equivalents such as Roisin Murphy, Kiddy Smile, and Hercules & Love Affair. However, his first musical love was R&B, and he started out as a kid from the Bronx, learning piano and saxophone and singing in local R&B groups. Ultimately, though, wanderlust and the lure of house music drew him to Europe, where he began working with electronic producers, quickly gaining a reputation for his incredible voice, lyrical talent, visual flair, and refusal to be put in the “anonymous house singer box”.
This fresh approach won Fiorious many admirers on the world house and disco scene. Within just a few years, his collab list has too many big names to mention, but his recent work with Shapeshifters and Austin Ato and his upcoming releases with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard are indicator of the diverse and high-flying company he currently keeps.
