Salt Bae was partnered with Dunkin Donuts by MN2S as part of a campaign promoting their new Spring menu.
Chef, restauranteur and internet sensation Nusret Gokce (better known as Salt Bae) has linked up with Dunkin Donuts to promote their new Spring menu. The menu features a range of Salted Caramel products – a first for Dunkin – which matches up perfectly with Salt Bae’s brand. In a post shared on their Instagram, Dunkin announced that they’d enlisted the help of Salt Bae to sprinkle the “ceremonial first pinch” of salt on their new Salted Caramel range. Salt Bae also spread the word about the new products on his Instagram and TikTok, to tens of millions of followers.
Best known as the originator of the Salt Bae meme, Nusret Gokce is a chef, restaurateur and media personality. In early January 2017, Nusret shared a video to Instagram entitled “Ottoman Steak”, in which he performs his signature routine of slicing a bone-in steak and flamboyantly sprinkling salt atop the meat before serving. Within hours, Twitter users across the globe had discovered the video before it picked up viral momentum. The tipping point came the next day, when Bruno Mars tweeted a picture of Salt Bae’s signature sprinkling move, and a meme was born. To date, the original post has received over 16.8 million views, and Nusret’s account now has over 33 million followers. A year later, and he had vastly expanded his restaurant empire, employing hundreds of employees across several continents. He has been featured in countless publications, appeared on late night television, and even inspired a mural in Melbourne, Australia. There’s no doubt that his influence has been vast, and he has since become one of the world’s most famous chefs.
