The rising singer-songwriter spoke with Crookes Magazine about her latest single, her creative process and an EP scheduled for release later this year.
In conversation with Crookes Magazine, ELIZZA talked about the emotions behind her latest single: “‘Habit’ is very personal, it’s probably more personal than all of the other songs I have released. First, I was a bit nervous to put this song out as it’s me being very honest and vulnerable with my deep feelings. But then I released it, as this is exactly what I want my music to be about: a true self-expression.” The interview also covered her songwriting process, music industry inspirations and plans for future projects.

At only 18 years old, ELIZZA moved to London with the hopes of fulfilling her ambitions of becoming a professional musician and recording artist, using her prodigious talents as a singer and songwriter to build a career and a reputation. Creating a unique sound that resists categorisation – “not just pop and not just R&B” – she describes her music as “dreamy, poetic, and honest”, fusing future-facing pop production and EDM influences with a natural vocal talent that is unmistakeable. ELIZZA’s latest recording, “Habit”, was released in June.
