CEO and co-founder of Musiio, Hazel Savage, spoke with MusicRadar about the integration of AI technology into the music industry.
The CEO of MN2S PR client Musiio spoke with MusicRadar as part of an in-depth feature on music and AI. Speaking about the kind of clients that use their services, she said: “Epidemic Sound uses our tagging, and Jamendo Music does too. Another great example is Beatstars. That’s where Lil Nas X bought the backing track for Old Town Road. Essentially they get, on average, about 20,000 songs uploaded a day. These are beats – producer-written backing tracks, sometimes full tracks, all going into this marketplace for people to search.” Hazel went on to describe in detail what Musiio does. “So what we’re really doing is we’re actually taking MP3s or WAVs, any kind of digital audio file, and we’re turning it into something a computer can read – a sort of a spectrographic transformation from which we’re able to then identify a lot of features about music.”
