Damon Hill: Track and TV star | News | MN2S Talent

Damon Hill, OBE is a now retired British motorsport driver and celebrity talent with an impressive established legacy in Formula One racing. Hill raced for prominent Formula One team Williams and enjoyed a total of 22 wins over his illustrious career; his very first victory coming at the 1993 Hungarian Grand Prix and his final one in 1998, at the Belgian Grand Prix. Damon Hill is available for booking to appear at private and corporate events through London based booking agency, MN2S.

Damon Hill is the son of Graham Hill, OBE, himself twice Formula One World Champion and the only driver ever to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport – the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. Hill and his father are the only father and son pair to have both won the Formula One World Championship.

Hill began his motorsport career in 1981, wearing the same strikingly recognisable helmet design that his father had also used. He faced difficulties at the beginning of his career in the form of sponsorship and private hardships, but his undoubted ability allowed him to progress and he began his Grand Prix career in 1991. The 1991 season saw Hill appear as a test driver for the prominent Williams team, and it was not long afterwards that he was racing for the team itself. Despite being eventually narrowly beaten by motorsport legend Ayrton Senna, the 1993 saw Hill perform impressively, registering his first podium finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix and achieving his first victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Over the course of his motorsport career, a rivalry formed between Hill and Formula One legend Michael Schumacher and the two were frequently in fierce competition, perhaps most notably at the 1994 Australian Grand Prix, where Schumacher managed to beat Hill by only a hair’s breadth. 1996 proved to be a very successful year for Hill, winning the world title with a total of eight first place finishes over the course of the season, and, despite being dropped by Williams for the following season, left the team as its second most successful driver ever. His performance earned him the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award for the second time, an award which he also won back in 1994, making him only one of three people to receive it twice. After claiming the title in 1996, Hill made history, becoming the only son of a former World Champion to do so, and was also awarded the Segrave Trophy by the Royal Automobile Club. One of Hill’s final triumphs before his retirement saw him give the motorsport team Jordan their first victory in 1998 before he conclude his career with a total of 22 wins.

After retiring, Hill has remained heavily involved and influential in the world of motorsport, succeeding Jackie Stewart as president of the British Racing Drivers’ Club from 2006-2011. At the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix he served as the driver representative on the stewards’ panel and also presided over the attainment of a 17 year contract for Silverstone to hold Formula One races. Hill has also launched several businesses, such as the Prestige and Super Car Private Members Club P1 International in 2000, some of which he continues to oversee.

Currently, Hill is a pundit and presenter for Formula One Racing on Sky Sports. In addition to his broadcasting duties and television appearances, Hill has also continued to contribute to F1 Racing magazine for many years. Aside from his success in Formula One and continuing to race non-competitively, Hill’s passion for music has seen him appear playing guitar with the likes of George Harrison. A legendary figure in the world of motor sport, Damon Hill is an inspired choice to book as an after dinner speaker at events or for a brand opportunity through MN2S Talent Agency.
