Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale spent the best part of a decade bringing something new to the electronic music scene as London duo Audio Bullys. Franks founded the band in 2001 and together they went on to release three albums that combined big bold beats with a lyrical wit and live stage presence rarely seen before. The first global success came with Ego War in 2003, and in 2005 the follow-up Generation took Audio Bullys to new heights once again, with the single ‘Shot You Down’ staying in the Top Ten for weeks. Their third album became even more ubiquitous thanks to being used all over Television.
With Simon coming from a house and garage background, it made sense that at the heart of the music was his sultry wordplay, documenting urban life and the micro sagas of the street. Now the lone member of Audio Bullys and still performing and recording live, Simon is also an in-demand house DJ who is putting all those hours he spent soaking up sets in London clubs during his youth to good use. As well as constantly turning out eclectic and energetic DJ sets at venues around Europe, Simon is always busy in the studio, combining his varied musical background with his unique take on modern life to great effect.
