Hayden James

Hayden James, born on November 28, 1992, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, began his career in music as a DJ, songwriter, and record producer. He established a partnership with the Future Classic label early in his career. His initial release, the single “Permission to Love,” came out in June 2013, followed by his debut EP, “Hayden James,” on August 30, 2013. This period marked the beginning of his professional engagements, including support slots for artists such as Disclosure and Odesza during their tours in the USA and Australia.

His career advanced with notable releases including “Something About You” in December 2014, which later achieved gold certification in Australia and accumulated over 68 million streams. In 2016, he released “Just a Lover,” a track that was nominated for an ARIA for Best Dance Release. From 2016 to 2017, James broadened his touring activities to include Europe and North America. During this time, he contributed to Katy Perry’s album “Witness” by co-writing several tracks, alongside developing his own debut studio album. He then released “Numb” featuring Graace in October 2017. His debut studio album, “Between Us,” was released on June 14, 2019, followed by a world tour and an ARIA nomination, featuring collaborations with artists like NAATIONS and Panama.

James continued to produce music, releasing his second studio album, “Lifted,” on April 8, 2022. In 2023, he collaborated with Bob Moses on the single “Do You Want Me.” He launched his third studio album, “We Could Be Love,” on September 13, 2024, preceded by the single “All In” on August 16, 2024. Throughout his career, James has received several accolades, including winning the AIR Award for Best Independent Dance/Electronic Club Song or EP in 2015 for “Something About You,” and an APRA Award for Most Performed Dance Work of the Year in 2020 for “Better Together.”
