Born Alexander Glantz in Deerfield, Illinois, in 1995, Alexander 23 developed an early passion for music, picking up the guitar at age eight. This early immersion led him to join the band The Heydaze during his single year at the University of Pennsylvania, a period that ultimately solidified his decision to pursue music professionally. After leaving college, Alexander moved to Los Angeles, a pivotal step where he began writing and producing for other artists, which eventually led him to create his own music. His stage name, Alexander 23, is a homage to his birth date, his childhood admiration for Michael Jordan, and his age when he began writing his solo material.
Alexander 23’s career gained significant momentum in 2019 with the release of his debut single “Dirty AF1s,” which earned placement on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and Apple Music’s ‘Bop of the Week.’ The same year, he signed with Interscope Records and released his first EP, “I’m Sorry I Love You.” His collaborative work expanded rapidly, contributing to major pop releases as a songwriter and producer. Notable achievements include co-producing Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” in 2021, a track that debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, and receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year for his work on Rodrigo’s “Sour” in 2022. He executive-produced Reneé Rapp’s debut album “Snow Angel” in 2023, showcasing his trusted role in shaping artists’ major projects.
