Ambar Carolina Crúz Rodriguez, professionally known as Ambar Lucid, was born on January 2, 2001, in Little Ferry, New Jersey. Her early life included periods spent between the Dominican Republic and New Jersey, and she was raised by a Dominican mother and Mexican father. Ambar developed an early interest in music, beginning to sing at age five and later teaching herself to play piano, guitar, and ukulele. She utilized online resources, such as YouTube, to refine her vocal techniques and instrumental skills. This foundational period established her self-reliant approach to musical development.

Her career began with posting song covers on YouTube before she moved to Los Angeles to pursue music professionally, opting to leave high school prior to her senior year. In 2019, Ambar Lucid released her debut EP, ‘Dreaming Lucid,’ which featured singles like ‘A letter to my younger self’ and ‘Eyes.’ This was followed by her debut album, ‘Garden of Lucid,’ in 2020. Her musical style, characterized by its blend of pop, R&B, alternative, and indie genres, resonates with diverse audiences.
