Aqueous, the acclaimed indie-jam rock group, quickly established themselves, being recognized early in their career as ‘the biggest band to emerge in 20 years’ within the improvisational music scene. Comprised of guitarist Mike Gantzer, drummer Rob Houk, bassist Dave Loss, and keyboardist Evan McPhaden, the band cultivates a distinct sound characterized by improvisational rock with pop-infused hooks and meaningful songwriting, ensuring each live performance is a fresh and dynamic experience. Early in their career, Aqueous expanded their discography with studio albums such as ‘Aqueous’ and ‘Cycles’, alongside EPs like ‘ARTIFACT- Live Studio EP’ and ‘Best in Show’. They began building their extensive live recording catalog, releasing projects including ‘Live at Nectars – Burlington, VT – 11.08.14’ and ‘Live at Scarlet & Grey – Columbus, OH – 11.15.14’ in 2014.
Aqueous concluded 2022 with the compilation ‘AQ Presents: Best of 2022’. Aqueous continued to showcase their robust live presence throughout 2023, releasing a significant collection of concert recordings. Highlights from the year included ‘Live from Gem and Jam Music Festival – February 3, 2023’, ‘Live from The Westcott Theater 03/04/23’, and ‘Live from Ardmore Music Hall 4/8/23’. They returned to SummerCamp for ‘Live from SummerCamp 5/26/23’ and a ‘VIP Set- 05/27/23’.
The band wrapped up a particularly active summer with ‘The Great Flamingle II 8/11/23’ and ‘The Great Flamingle II 8/12/23’. Through their consistent output of recorded material and dynamic live shows, Aqueous continues to cultivate a dedicated following, embodying authentic musical exploration within the jam band scene.
