Bappa Mazumder, born Shubhashish Mazumder Bappa, is an esteemed figure in Bangladeshi music, renowned as a singer, lyricist, and composer. With a career spanning over two decades, Bappa has carved a niche for himself as the Melody King of Bangladesh, enchanting audiences with his soul-stirring romantic compositions.
Born into a musical dynasty, Bappa’s upbringing was steeped in melodies, with both his parents being musicians. Immersed in this rich musical environment from a young age, he received his initial musical education within the nurturing confines of his family. Further honing his skills, Bappa pursued a comprehensive five-year course in classical music at the prestigious Monihar Sangeet Academy, under the tutelage of Ustad Barin Mazumder.
Despite his classical training, Bappa’s musical journey veered towards contemporary sounds, culminating in the formation of the iconic rock band Dalchhut in 1996, alongside Sanjeeb Choudhury. Their debut album, “Tokhon Bhor Bela,” marked the inception of a musical revolution, with Bappa’s evocative vocals leaving an indelible mark on the Bangladeshi music scene.
