Coasts achieved significant acclaim early in their career, securing two UK Top 40 albums and multiple critically praised singles, solidifying their presence in the indie music scene. The band first emerged with their debut single, ‘Stay,’ in 2012, which garnered immediate radio support from Huw Stephens. Building on this momentum, Coasts released their third single, ‘Oceans,’ in June 2014, earning further backing from BBC Radio 1 DJs Greg James and Huw Stephens. That same year, ‘A Rush of Blood’ was named Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, a testament to their growing influence.

Following the album’s success, the band undertook a significant 38-date UK tour, engaging with audiences nationwide. In 2018, Coasts joined The Hunna for a world tour, amplifying their global reach, and subsequently performed their own sold-out UK tour, culminating in a powerful finale at the Kentish Town Forum in London. While Coasts announced their disbandment via social media on August 9, 2018, concluding with a final emotional performance at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on October 28, 2018, their legacy was revisited. The band reunited once in 2019 to headline the Jurassic Fields festival in Bridport, UK, underscoring the enduring appeal of their music and their significant contributions to the indie rock landscape.
