Del Amitri released their eponymous debut studio album in 1985 after securing a recording contract with Chrysalis Records. The alternative rock band has since sold over six million albums globally, with six of their albums achieving UK Top 10 status. A significant breakthrough occurred with their second studio album, ‘Waking Hours,’ in 1989, which climbed to No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart.

This success was further highlighted by their most successful UK single, ‘Nothing Ever Happens,’ which peaked at No. 11 in 1990. ‘Waking Hours’ also garnered international exposure, charting in several territories and featuring the single ‘Kiss This Thing Goodbye,’ which charted in the US Billboard Hot 100. Their return to the studio culminated in the 2021 release of ‘Fatal Mistakes,’ which debuted at No. 5 on the UK Album Chart, marking their sixth album to enter the UK Top 10. In 2024, Del Amitri embarked on a major European and UK tour, joining Simple Minds as a supporting act across multiple dates. Additionally, the band’s frontman, Justin Currie, extended his creative output by releasing a best-selling memoir, ‘The Tremolo Diaries,’ which he supported with a comprehensive book tour, further engaging with fans and critics.
