Fun Lovin’ Criminals formed in 1993 and together they have released seven albums including Come Find Yourself, Mimosa and most recently, Classic Fantastic, all of which have kept them as the world's finest and only purveyors of cinematic hip-hop, rock ‘n’ roll, blues-jazz, and latino soul vibes. The lyrics relate to life in New York as well as other tales of urban existence and are lauded for their eclecticism and vibrancy.??
Born out of the New York club scene, Fun Lovin’ Criminals have always straddled a variety of genres with aplomb. Their eclectic style has seen them become a firm festival favourite and a multi Platinum and Gold act in the UK and Europe selling over 4 million records worldwide. The mid-to-late 90s was a twirling martini cocktail of world travel, acclaim and phenomenal album sales, including three weeks as support on the U.S PopMart tour with U2 in 1997. The trio, now all relocated to the UK have left the cartoon New York netherworld behind for a colossal outdoors party, creating self-produced classics recorded in their London studios featuring life-long “fourth member”, the Grammy-award winning hip-hop engineer Tim Latham ISP (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul). As such, 20 years after first emerging, Fun Lovin Criminals are still right at the top of their suave and sophisticated musical game.
