Hev Abi has rapidly ascended as the Philippines’ most streamed male OPM artist, known for his authentic hip-hop style and ability to connect with a wide audience. After his breakout single ‘WELCOME2DTQ’ went viral across platforms in 2023, charting on Billboard’s Philippines Songs for four weeks and peaking at number twenty, Hev Abi quickly established himself as a dominant force in Filipino hip-hop, earning him the moniker ‘Rookie of the Year.’ Hev Abi launched his musical career in 2020 with the single ‘Pusong Bato,’ followed by the EPs ‘Kwentong Jimenez’ in 2021, and both ‘Pautang ng Pag-Ibig’ and ‘Sakred Boy’ in 2022. These early releases laid the groundwork for his rapid ascent as the Philippines’ most streamed male OPM artist. Following this breakthrough, Hev Abi continued to demonstrate his extensive appeal with popular singles including ‘Para sa Streets,’ ‘QC Girls,’ and ‘Lil Kasalanan Shortie.’ In October 2023, he released his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Kung Alam Mo Lang,’ a twelve-track record exploring themes of love and friendship.

His expanding influence culminated in him headlining his first major concert, ‘Morato Most Wanted,’ at the New Frontier Theater in 2024. Beyond his prolific releases, Hev Abi has also made strides as an entrepreneur, co-founding the independent record label Downtown Q Entertainment. Through this venture, he actively collaborates with a roster of artists including Kristina Dawn, gins&melodies, Unotheone, and Simmo, fostering new talent in the scene. Further solidifying his artistic evolution, he released his fifth project, the mixtape ‘bahay namin maliit lamang,’ in August 2024.

His ongoing impact on the genre has been recognized with the Hiphop Artist of the Year award at the New Hue Video Music Awards in 2025, underscoring his pivotal role in the surge of Filipino hip-hop’s mainstream popularity.
