Iration, an American reggae/pop group, was formed in Isla Vista, California, by members who originally hail from Hawaii. The band established itself by performing reggae covers in college towns, developing a reputation for their live performances. Their early career saw the release of the EP “New Roots” in 2006, followed by their first full-length album, “No Time for Rest,” in 2007. “No Time for Rest” reached the top of the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, marking a significant early achievement for the band.
In 2008, Iration began their first national tour as the opening act for Pepper. The same year, they released their second EP, “Sample This,” which debuted as the #3 top-selling reggae album worldwide on iTunes. Their second album, “Time Bomb,” released in March 2010, also topped the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and sold over 36,000 copies. The EP “Fresh Grounds” followed in 2011, reaching #147 on Billboard’s Albums list and #1 on the Heatseekers albums list, indicating a growing fan base and industry recognition. Their 2010 song “Time Bomb” was officially RIAA Gold certified on July 29, 2021.
The band continued to release albums that consistently charted well. “Automatic” (2013), “Hotting Up” (2015), and their self-titled album “Iration” (2018) all topped or reached high positions on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, with the self-titled album also appearing on the Billboard 200. In 2016, they released “Double Up,” an acoustic album featuring re-imagined versions of their songs, which reached #2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Their recent studio albums include “Coastin'” (2020) and “Daytrippin'” (2023), which continue to showcase their blend of reggae, rock, and pop influences, often featuring collaborations with prominent artists in the reggae scene. They are also known for partnering with various brands, including Autumn Brands, Melin, and Seamus Golf.
