About

Itzy, a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment, debuted on February 12, 2019, with the single album “It’z Different” and its lead single “Dalla Dalla.” The group comprises five members: Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. Prior to their official debut, individual members gained exposure through various industry activities; Chaeryeong participated in JYP’s survival show “Sixteen,” while Ryujin and Yuna appeared in BTS’s “Love Yourself” highlight reel and all members except Lia featured on Mnet’s reality show “Stray Kids.” Ryujin also competed on JTBC’s “Mix Nine,” placing first among female contestants, and Yeji participated in SBS’s “The Fan.” These early experiences laid the groundwork for their collective entry into the music scene.

The group’s debut with “Dalla Dalla” achieved significant commercial success, peaking at number two on South Korea’s Circle Digital Chart and setting a new record for views by a K-pop debut music video within 24 hours. This achievement led to Itzy becoming the fastest girl group to secure a music-show win, and by the end of 2019, they were recognized with a “Rookie Grand Slam,” winning all five major Rookie of the Year awards. Their early EPs, “It’z Icy,” “It’z Me,” “Not Shy,” and “Guess Who,” consistently produced top-ten singles in South Korea. Their debut studio album, “Crazy in Love” (2021), marked their entry onto the US Billboard 200 at number 11, further cementing their international presence. In 2022, their fifth EP, “Checkmate,” became their first million-selling album and reached the Billboard 200 top ten, initiating their Checkmate World Tour across Asia, North America, and Europe. This period also saw them expand their strategic partnership with Republic Records, reinforcing their global reach.

Continuing their trajectory of success, Itzy released two more million-selling EPs, “Cheshire” (2022) and “Kill My Doubt” (2023), and made their official Japanese debut with singles and their first Japanese studio album, “Ringo” (2023), which charted well in Japan. In 2023, member Lia took a temporary hiatus due to anxiety, but returned to activities in 2024. The group released their eighth EP, “Born to Be” (2024), featuring individual member solo tracks, and embarked on the Born to Be World Tour, performing across 28 regions. Following this, their ninth EP, “Gold” (2024), marked their seventh appearance on the Billboard 200. In 2025, Itzy released their tenth EP, “Girls Will Be Girls,” and their second Japanese studio album, “Collector,” demonstrating sustained productivity and audience engagement. All members renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment in September 2025, signifying their collective commitment to their ongoing career.
