Joe Flizzow is a pioneering Malaysian hip-hop artist and entrepreneur who has transitioned from a successful recording artist to a key figure in the Southeast Asian music industry as Managing Director of Def Jam Southeast Asia. After achieving breakthrough success as one half of the pioneering Malaysian hip-hop duo Too Phat, Joe Flizzow established himself as a dominant force in Southeast Asian music. Formed in 1998, Too Phats debut album, Whutthadilly? (1999), earned the Best New Local English Artist award at the 8th Anugerah Industri Muzik.
The duo followed this with Plan B (2001), which sold an impressive 45,000 copies on its release day, achieving platinum certification. Their momentum continued with 360° (2003), selling 100,000 copies and securing another platinum certification, cementing Too Phats widespread recognition throughout the Asian region before their dissolution in 2007. Flizzows solo career launched with the critically acclaimed album President in 2008, followed by Havoc in 2013. Demonstrating his entrepreneurial vision, he founded his own record label, Kartel Records, in 2005, through which he not only released his own music but also cultivated emerging hip-hop talent.
