Joe Robinson

Joseph Robert Robinson was born in Temagog, New South Wales, Australia, on May 25, 1991. He began his musical journey on piano at the age of six, transitioning to guitar at ten. Demonstrating rapid progress, he surpassed his initial guitar instructor within a year and continued self-teaching through internet resources. By the age of eleven, Robinson started touring with various Australian artists, including his mentor, Tommy Emmanuel. His early achievements include winning the Australian National Songwriting Competition at thirteen and recording his debut album, “Birdseed,” in 2006.

Robinson gained international recognition in 2008 when he won the grand finale of “Australia’s Got Talent” at seventeen, performing a fingerstyle rendition of “Classical Gas.” Following this success, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and recorded his second album, “Time Jumpin’,” released in 2009. The same year, he earned the 2009 Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World title at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, securing multiple instrumental categories. He formed the Joe Robinson Electric Project in September 2009, embarking on an Australian national tour, and opened for Australian music icon John Farnham on a series of shows.

After relocating to Nashville at eighteen, Robinson was invited to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in June 2010. He was recognized as “Best New Talent” in Guitar Player magazine’s 2010 Reader’s Poll. His career progression includes extensive international touring, including “The Houdini tour” across Europe and appearances in Japan, leading to a recording contract with P-Vine Records. He released his third album, “Let Me Introduce You,” in 2012, followed by several EPs including “Toe Jam” (2012), “Gemini Vol. 1” (2014), and “Gemini Vol. 2” (2015). Robinson has also collaborated with artists like Robben Ford and Lee Roy Parnell in “Guitar Army” and contributed to records by Russell Morris, Rodney Crowell, and Dami Im.
