King Promise

Gregory Bortey Newman, known professionally as King Promise, was born on August 16, 1995, to Francis Newman and Angela Quaye in Nungua, Accra, Ghana. He pursued his early education at De Kings Academy before attending Nungua Senior High School, ultimately graduating from Central University in 2016. His professional music career began in 2016 with the release of his debut single, ‘Thank God,’ featuring Fuse ODG and produced by Killbeatz. This initial success laid the foundation for his recognition as a talented and adaptable artist within different music genres. His early work showcased a blend of R&B, Afrobeats, Highlife, and Hip-hop influences, establishing his sonic identity in the Ghanaian music scene.

Over the years, King Promise has developed a career marked by significant achievements and collaborations. He is signed to Legacy Life Entertainment, managed by Gervin Ohene Addo, and has also expanded his reach into international markets through a signing with 5K Records/Sony Music. His discography includes hit songs such as ‘Selfish,’ ‘CCTV,’ and ‘Oh Yeah,’ which have contributed to his popularity. A notable collaboration involved being featured on DJ Vision’s track ‘Double Trouble,’ a song that spent several weeks topping radio charts.
